Course description
High prevalence of malocclusion, whether dental and/or skeletal, is commonly known in population
of children and young adults as shown in literature review. Several ethiopathogenetic factors
are involved in development of malocclusion, genetical factors, environmental factors
and functional factors especially during evolutive period in children growth.
Understanding of mechanism of cranio-facial growth
Development of occlusion
Functions( mastication, deglutition, speech, )
Are basic for the right approach and timing to:
Recognize, diagnose and treat malocclusion in the very first phases of development,
before abnormal compensating mechanism begins to be involved.
Final goal of the course is to intercept and treat malocclusion in early stages.
Expected results are an improvement of orthodontic treatments for a better harmonic,
functional and aesthetic smile of our patients.
Participant will receive informations on basic orthodontic, a review of concepts of occlusion
and malocclusion andinstruments, theoretical and practical, to manage cases in office.
Wide attention will be given to documentation of cases and to management of patients
as well as use of appliances.
